Adventure In Japan - Part 4

Image
Universal Studio Japan (USJ) One of the highlights in my last trip to Japan would be USJ. I can describe in three words: IT WAS AWESOME!  I’d recommend anyone to visit there at least once if you’re in Osaka.  I went there for one reason – The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  It rained on the day so I didn’t get to spend much time walking around but it was still good. I love the ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey - one of the best thrill rides.  I bought a nice warm Slytherin cardigan for myself (a bit expensive in my opinion but it was worth it).  I also recommend everyone to try a cold Butterbeer, it was yummy; I even bought back the mug for souvenir. Hogwarts Train Hogwarts Castle Butterbeer The 3D rides were great as well, I recommend everyone to try all of them, if you have time that is. Attack of the Titan  Recommendation: Don’t go during Japan school holidays or the weekends. We went during...

Places I wish I could've visited whilst in South Korea

Image
While I only ended up staying a short period of time in Korea, there were many places i wish i had the chance to visit and explore.  For example Jeju Island with it's lovely beaches and specialty black pork, Korea's largest recreational attraction Lotte World, go skiing at the various snow locations and many other fun activities and places. Lotte World Jeju Island Hallasan Mountain Jeju Black Pork Lotte World is a massive theme park won the Guinness World Record for one of the biggest indoor theme parks in the world. There are 4 parts to it with various attractions for all ages. Jeju Black Pork is a specialty originating from Jeju Island farms. The colour of the meat is a little darker than normal pork but it's the flavour that is distinct and what really makes this pork special.  Jeju Island is also home to many spectacular sight seeing areas such as the dormant volcano, the volcanic craters left behind as well as the beautiful ...

Adventure in Japan – Part 3

Shimanami Kaido The Shimanami Kaido highway connects six islands: Mukaishima, Innoshima, Ikuchijima, Omishima, Hakatajima and Oshima, before terminating on Shikoku in Imabari City. The highway is a bicycle-friendly 70km route.  (Image source: https://blog.gaijinpot.com/riding-shimanami-kaido/ ) We took Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka and got off at Onomichi. We spent a day walking up the hills, visiting shrines and temples in the city. We visited at least 10 places that day, most were pretty close to each other but the condition of some of the shrines are ghastly. We stayed overnight in one of the hotels in Onomichi. The next morning we rented a bicycle at the rental place near the hotel. You have the option of renting an electric bike (last a few hours), a mummy’s bike with seat at the back (we rented these due to overnight bags) or the proper cycling bike. We had to catch a ferry to the first island before we can begin our adventure. Cyclists share the road w...

Gangnam South Korea

Image
My Korean Experience Last year I took a mini holiday to South Korea. It was the most memorable experience of my life! I visited Gangnam in Seoul which is one of the richest and biggest areas in South Korea. Is one of the biggest shopping districts with various fashion from around the world. There are various activities to do whilst visiting Gangnam (which is also based off the famous song by South Korean singer PSY).  While I travelled to there I visited many department stores and bought various items from there.  I also visited the Samsung D'light which is an exhibition that showcases all the newest and upcoming technology.  The weather when I went was very cold as it was winter season for Korea. I stayed in the Imperial Palace Hotel in Seoul, and during the day and night I met up with my friends to go explore and have fun whilst on this short trip.  At night there are many clubs that we visited and spen...

Paris

Paris Paris is one of those cities that almost everyone has on their list of "must see before I die". When I was there, I unfortunately didn't get to see Paris in its prime. I arrived on November 15th, two days after the Bataclan Terrorist Attack. So whilst the city was still beautiful, it was subdued.  But, even when the city was in mourning, it was still one of the most amazing cities I have ever been to.  I'm going to make this short and sweet.  My top pick, The Louvre. It's beautiful inside and out, and if you're into history, it's a veritable goldmine. You've got sections on Art from numerous time periods and places (My favourites are the ones of  Napoléon  Bonaparte, and the various sculptures). It's a can't miss destination. oh and if you can try and get them to let you ride the little elevator up to the exit through the pyramid (I pouted, she gave in). Exiting through the Pyramid! My favouri...
